Arsenal have emerged as the main favourites to sign Dortmund striker, Robert Lewandowski, who’s contract expires at the end of the season.
The 25 year old has continued his stunning form this season, netting 13 times in 18 appearances for BVB. This has sparked interest from a host of top European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
However, Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo claim the Gunners are front-runners for the Pole’s signature despite having a similar target man in Olivier Giroud, but perhaps Wenger has plans to accommodate both in the same team.
Lewandowski is a brilliant finisher who does more than holding up the ball and has good movement both inside and outside the ball, with his quick feet and thinking, which could attract Arsène Wenger.
The January transfer window might come too soon to make a move for the Polish International, as Dortmund would be determined to keep their striker ahead of a crucial Bundesliga and Champions League run-in but the German side would be unable to hinder his move to any other club when he becomes a free agent next summer.
